Aloha!
I find that although I shoot a lot of photos of my kids I never seem to do anything useful with them. So here you go, I had a night off (After doing division homework with Luke and getting back from the two hour carpool to Waimea), and decided to send off some of what has been going on the last month.
It was a fairly busy few weeks. The boys in Luke's class took a day hike to Kaloko on the day that all the girls in the class were off to a girls only math and science day. So the girls have to go off and listen to a bunch of women with sensible shoes and short haircuts demonstrate why water boils and the boys get to run around in a rain forest for five hours and explore the higher levels of goofing off. Doesn't sound quite fair to me. Swimming with dolphins was the next weeks event. I'm glad they let the girls go on this one. It would have been a real shame if they had to go to a chemistry seminar while the boys got to rub shoulders with marine mammals.
Two days later Luke and I went for a manta ray night dive with his buddy Cody and his dad. I have to admit it was a truly amazing evening. After sunset we all geared up and jumped off the boat into the dark sea with a flashlight. The next thing we know there are fifteen huge (1,000 lbs. 15 foot wingspan) manta rays screaming up from the sea bottom to swim in and out our lights beams. Luke and Cody did great I have to say, no fear or hesitation. I can't quite see myself at ten years old jumping into a dark sea with nothing but a flashlight to frolic with monster sized rays.
Thanksgiving arrived a few days later here in Hawaii. My brother Gavin flew in for the event with his twin 6 year olds Nate and Gordon. Following a great deal of huffing and puffing we managed to pull off a great Thanksgiving dinner. As the old saying goes..."A good time was had by all". I hope yours was half as filling...
Well that's the update. It was a great month and it's not even Christmas yet!
I hope you have a great Christmas and the finest New Year there can be!
Aloha,
