HPA Eighth Grade Transition Ceremony

Luke and all his classmates concluded the eighth grade this week. The end of middle school...the entry portal to high school. The last big transition was fifth grade to middle school, a minor passage when thinking of eighth grade to ninth grade. High school is a big time for all. It is the time when your body and your mind make the leap from being a boy to being a man, a girl to a woman. The high school years are fraught with emotions, traumas and wonder. I have watched as my two wonderful daughters changed from being self absorbed, ungrateful girls to mature, thoughtful young women. I expect no less a transition of my son Luke.

Kailana's last year of high school begins in a few months as does Lukes first year of it. I have four more years of being the dad of a high schooler, I look forward to it.
