Rainstorm Fun at Walmart

Rainstorm Fun at Walmart June 20,2011

We jumped into the car in an absolute downpour to go get a frozen yogurt. Along with me were Kailana, Luke and Josh. As we came abreast the giant carved wall below Walmart we could see an incredible waterfall  raging down the wall! It truly looked like a natural avalanching water fall as it crashed down the thirty feet to the highway below.

We of course did the safe thing and headed right at the cascading flow accelerating all the way so that when we hit it there was a twenty foot rooster tail of water flying into the sky on either side of the Excursion. It was excellent! There was no way to get a photo of it, as we were in effect water skiing along Queen K Highway. The kids were howling out loud while I remained calm and adult-like, the picture of responsible adult supervision.

After our car race upon the water we turned around and headed to the upper Walmart parking lots south end where the deluge of rain raced to the far corner reaching over two feet deep before gushing over the bushes and creating a huge waterfall.

Luke and Josh jumped out and went about having a wonderful boy time running and playing in the flood. I grabbed my old car camera and snapped some quick shots in the poorly lit lot. The boys got soaked, the car got soaked, my camera was dampened and the Walmart parking lot was washed clean! It was very good fun and the kids loved it.

Another good memory made!
